Arthritis is a condition that causes inflammation in the joints, leading to pain, stiffness, and swelling. There are over 100 different types of arthritis, but the two most common are osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

Osteoarthritis (OA): The most common type, it occurs when the cartilage that cushions the joints deteriorates over time, leading to pain and stiffness, usually in weight-bearing joints like the knees, hips, and spine.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA): This is an autoimmune condition where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks the joints, leading to inflammation, pain, and potential joint damage.

Other forms of arthritis include gout, lupus, and psoriatic arthritis.
